Well you're getting initiated into the college experience real fast. It's not so bad. Just take one step at a time and you'll be fine. ;)

I'll be praying for you.

When you get home from New Life and finally have a chance to read the comments I have written while reading your blog because I miss you, then you MUST explain to your dear mother how it is that your Daddy almost died because of YOUR stubbornness. This I must hear.
Love ya always,
Mom

My sweet girl. What a beautiful picture of marriage. I can't wait to meet the man worthy of that description whom God has saved for you. Your quest for purity, your commitment to one man only, will be more of a blessing than you can ever imagine. It will allow a peace in your marriage that you would only miss if you were not to remain true to your vows. Daddy and I are praying for you, and for your future husband. Keep being the woman God wants you to be, and you will be rewarded and blessed.
Love ya, Baby,
Mom

Have you chorded the song - or tabbed it yet. I could do it, but would love it if you've already done that.
I just heard the song this morning on the radio and hope to do it in Church - congregationally sometime soon.

Relient K is a kool band. Good music, enough variety to keep you listening for a while... :) I would say their strength is definitely in their lyrics. I haven't been able to decide if their sound is intentionally distinctive or if they just use most of the same chord progressions... Great band nonetheless. :)

It is interesting that many of the Christian bands (or bands made up of Christians) that choose to go Mainstream seem to have much more widespread influence. I think this is mainly due to the fact that, to put it bluntly, there is a lot of lame Christian music out there. Granted, worship, etc. is "not about the music", but when you have good lyrics set to intolerably bad music it can be a distraction from the truth being proclaimed and definitely contributes to the stereotype of Christian artists as "lacking in musical talent and creativity."

If you like Relient K, check out Mainstay (rock band). Their lyrics vary from beautifully worshipful to vaguer/somewhat introspective. They are genuinely skilled musicians and writers.

I don't know which songs they have up, but if you can check out "Take Away", "When You Come Down", and "Stars are Singing".

I have only relatively recently gotten to enjoy Relient K. I never really liked to be listening to what everyone else seemed to. I guess I should have figured that there was a good reason everyone was listening to them. I enjoy them a ton.
